. . . and we're starting to see the light. The plumbing & electrical are done, subfloors are down, the framing is complete, and they've started installing the backerboard on the floor. Rachel has already told us that the shower bench is hers - and she's NOT going to share!
Here's my layout for the new Method Playground challenge - Ali Edwards is guest hosting for us. And a close-up. I didn't want to freehand my shape, so I printed a bracket and placed it under a scrap piece of transparency to use as a template. Once the beads were dry, I trimmed around the shape and adhered it to my layout.
Saturday was day three of our bathroom remodel. The floor, subfloor & ceiling are gone. It's totally gutted now. And Home Depot has a lot more of our money after a trip for supplies. Thank God for those 10% coupons we keep getting. Sunday we took the kids to the corn maze in The Plains. Had a blast - did the maze in about a half-hour. Rachel refused to hand over the popcorn bag - I'm surprised she didn't demand to take it to bed last night.
And our big Method Playground news - our guest challenge by Ali Edwards is up! She gave us quite a messy challenge. Glass beads rolling everywhere! We're going to hold off posting our layouts for a day, but here's a sneak peek:
Today was demo day for our master bath, now just a big pile in our driveway. Good riddance! No more icky blue 60's tile ... no more globe lights that made me think of Donna Summer songs...
And here's a shot of Thomas in the gutted room. As expected we found surprises - namely water damage in the subfloor (a large hole) that was covered up with a new floor instead of fixing the problem. Par for the course around here. If I ever run into the prior owners, I'd be really tempted to deck them.
And I picked up a couple of copies. The kids are thrilled to see themselves in the magazine! And Mom - you're copy is on the way! Here's a good comment for you someone left on a blog: "Wow! Good looking Grandma!!! : D I hope to look so good." Hmm.. I'm hoping I got those genes....
Since I don't have the original layout back yet, here's one of the beach pics of Mom and the kids. Love ya!
I saw a link for this on Tammi Mitchell's blog and to make it easier, here's the YouTube video. This is the funniest thing I've seen all week. How many of these things have you said to your kids today???
And here's the layout I did for the BadGirls kit Top Designer contest this week - using white space. The sign about Thomas's head reads "Lil Pumpkins $1.99 each."
