I finally got around to putting together my tag for the wall at ScrapbooksPlus. It took me a while to decide on how to decorate this chipboard. Inspired by my new favorite Yahoo group, All Things Tim, I decided to do a variety of techniques...
First, I used Crushed Olive distress ink with Vintage Photo to do the rusted enamel technique - you can find it on page 41 of Tim's Compendium of Curiosities book.
I covered the left hand side with dictionary paper, then ripped off some with masking tape (see Tim's 12 Tags of Christmas 2009 - tag 6 for directions).
A bit more inking, a little spray with Perfect Pearls mist, and a copper bird with metal from Ten Seconds Studios. The tag is from Susie Bentz, who makes them just for ScrapbooksPlus. I added my name on a Girls Paperie tag with some Heidi Swapp alpha stickers. The color wasn't right, so I inked them with Vintage Photo distess ink.
The final charm, a faux-enamel look from chipboard. Tim did a version with metal in his 12 Tags. This one was done with chipboard. First, cover your chipboard with white paint and let dry. I then stamped with archival ink. Using UTEE, coat your piece 2 - 3 times and voila!
