I probably should have posted this a week ago....it would have been a bit more timely ;)
This is another layout I made with the Simple Stories' Harvest Lane collection. I added a vintage book page and a title cut with my Sizzix Eclips. And I think there's a bit of black & white dotted paper from one of Simple Stories' summer collections (to match the black frame around my hipstamatic photos).
Our annual Thanksgiving tradition - sharing the day (and the cooking) with friends. We were talking about it last week, and we've been doing this for 20 years (with only a couple years missing when we were living in Rhode Island).
It started when we were all working together in our 20's. Our office had quite a few single people. We'd often go out together as a group on the weekend, play ultimate frisbee and Thursday nights was reserved for the piano bar at the Fish Market in old town Alexandria. (Mark Trotter was the best!)
For Thanksgiving, we started a "misfits dinner" for those that didn't have family or weren't going to travel to family for the holiday. We did it potluck - everyone brought something. Over the next couple of years it whittled down to just a few of us, and then the two families.
I'm thankful that we have such wonderful friends and even though we aren't able to get together even close to weekly anymore, we cherish and enjoy the times that we can.
