I started by wanting something to fill a spot on my kitchen wall above the toaster. My thought was a canvas with a burlap pocket to hold things and clear up a bit of the clutter on the fridge. But this kinda got a way from me and took on a life of it's own....
And it ended up with a Christmas theme. What can I say? I find it hard to resist Santa, snowflakes and some of the holiday ephemera. It'll be a nice place to hold & display holiday cards.
I started out by collaging vintage papers onto the canvas. Once it was dry, I added some color and a wide burlap pocket (stapled around the back). Then I decided I wanted something else on the project.
You can see that I've got ephemera from Pink Paislee & Basic Grey , as well as a big button from Cosmo Cricket. The plastic Santa is vintage, the paper clip is Tim Holtz's Idea-ology and the star pin is Maya Road.

oh, I really like this! Great combo of pattern and texture :)
