Today was the first time in ages -- like about five months -- that I felt filled with energy. I've been dying to get my gelli plate out (and have thought about it many times), but life has been getting in the way. And that's a story for another day....
So, after I put some of my energy into cleaning the living room and running to Target I had about an hour before I had to pick up the kids from school. Fabulous! One the great things about monoprinting with the gelli plate is how quick it is. I was able to do around three layers on each sheet.
Since it's like, 30-some degrees outside right now I just took a few quick pics on my work table. I've now got half a dozen backgrounds that I can use for art journaling, collage or other projects.
I used Golden's heavy body acrylics and Canson mixed media paper along with Crafter's Workshop stencils, punchinella, and miscellaneous items I'd collected.
For several pages, like the one in the middle (below), I took the extra paint on my brayer and rollec in onto a clean sheet of paper to clean the brayer. After it was dry, I added more layers with printing.
This, I think, is my favorite of the bunch:
I even did a bit of printing right into my sketchbook -

Great prints, Deb. Love using the GP to get motivated... maybe that should be on my list for today!
