I've been taking advantage of the last week of school, including a trip to Restoration Hardware out at Tyson's Corner. I've always loved this store. Back in the late 90's & early 2000's when I worked in Boston I would take the green line over to Copley just to visit this store.
Their style has changed quite a bit over the years, but they always have a beautiful store. This time I set off with a purpose - a new duvet cover, however, I was struck as always by their displays. When the saleswoman was off checking their inventory I snapped a few photos. Lots of inspiration for styling your own home.
What I loved this time - old books, stones, minerals -- all in neutral colors. They had them sans cover, rolled up and tied on display in a round bowl...
... and just stacked up in groups and tied together on a console table.
Their bookcases made me drool. They had more "old" books -- handcrafted journals --tied together, geodes and minerals, coral, beautiful covered boxes and frames. If you want a really tactile art journal and are willing to spend say around $100, you could pick up a large sewn book - really large - with lovely thick textured signatures. I couldn't easily find a listing, but you can see them on the bookcase here -- second photo down.
Geodes in a tray. I've always been drawn to minerals, and these were good chunky ones.
And more books tied together in a bookcase.... just image you don't see my reflection....
Last but not least, a jar of stones in the bath.
If it hadn't been lunch time I probably would have taken a seat and just hung out in the store until I was asked to leave.
