Today is the Girl Scouts' 100th birthday. Last year we got to celebrate Boy Scouting's 100th birthday with our Cub Scout pack, and it's exciting to be able to share Girl Scouts with my daughter.
I'm a co-leader for Rachel's Brownie troop, and the troop cookie mom for the second year in a row. I spent an afternoon sorting through boxes to find my old sashes from Juniors and Cadettes, along with a GS scarf, an embroidery project from a junior badge, photos from cam, and a scrapbook filled with newspaper clippings from GS activities we did (it was a small town!).
So, a very happy birthday to all the Girl Scouts -- former, current and future. For today, eat some GS cookies to celebrate. We'll see you at the Rock the Mall in June.
