It's September and that means it's time for Shimelle's Learn Something New Everyday class. This is my fifth year doing this project. You can see my albums from the past four years here: 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013.
I've gotten the cover of my album finished. Well, it's the only thing finished right now. I'm journaling everyday and keeping up with Shimelle's prompts, but I haven't started working on any pages just yet.
I had planned to do a Project Life style album this year and was comtemplating picking up a smaller 3-ring binder, like the Snap ones, at Michaels. But then I remembered that one of the two main reasons I do this every year is to make a concerted effort to use OLD supplies. With that, I grabbed this composition book that had been sitting around for 2 years - already washi-taped.
I started diving through my stash of alphas and old embellishments and found some old Heidi Swapp acetate shapes (still love them!) and stickers. I did add two new items cut with my Silhouette: a black vinyl "everything" and a wood veneer "new."
The veneer I'd had sitting around for a couple of years. I crossed my fingers as I placed it on the cutting mat hoping that it wouldn't get chewed up. I think I may have squealed when I pulled it off the mat.
Interested? It's a great project for those who like to journal, who need a push to journal, or who are trying to figure out how or what to journal. And it's great for those "slice of life" scrapbooks.
