Tell us about your business. "They didn't ask you" was a standard line in our family when I'd see a product flaw and I had a solution. Many times, ideas I sent to companies were incorporated into re-designs and I'd receive the new & improved product as a thank you. When I began scrapbooking, my attempts at inkjet printing on vellum were inconsistent & unsatisfactory, and there wasn't anything on the market to improve it. After many weeks of experimenting, the Perfect Printing Pouch was born. All my friends wanted one! (It has been renamed since it is now used for so many different uses in addition to improving inkjet printing on vellum.) Inventing great products starts with realizing there is a problem and that a better way may exist. The solutions must be cost effective, easy to use, environmentally-friendly, and multi-purpose is a plus. I highly value cooperation & collaboration. That's the basis of my business. My interest lies more in teaching & inventing--so eventually someone else will "run the store."
About the award:
We are honoring makers, small-business owners, and creative entrepreneurs in the fields of crafts, design, food, and style. If you are an American maker and you are producing beautiful, innovating, inspiring products, nominate yourself in one of our categories.
I've been using ScraPerfect products for years -- not only using them for design team work but because I love them. I'm excited to see Amy's company nominated for this award. It's wonderful to be using products designed by a crafter for crafters -- so not only do they work & work well, but they last a long time.
