Tonight's Thomas's final night as a Cub Scout. In just a couple of hours he'll be walking across the bridge to join his new Boy Scout troop.
To commemorate their time as Cub Scout, us parents made shadow boxes for our Webelos and displayed them at the Blue and Gold banquet. Here's a sampling.
They had a nice display of memorabilia alongside the boxes.
I purchased a large shadow box from Michaels. I found that straight pins and velcro squares were the best things to attach items in the box. You need to make sure you use enough pins on the top, sides, bottom and sleeves of the shirt.
Here's Thomas's box in progress. I've attached the shirt and layed out many of the items.
And this is where is stands today. I have a patch or two to remove from his Webelos shirt (which he needs for this weekend's district Pinewood Derby) and he'll be awarded his final two activity pins tonight.
I chose to put the pins and beltloops into their own box. I liked the way they looked on their own.
